Working Conditions

Legal Weekly Duration

Normal working hours cannot exceed 8 hours per day and 48 hours per week.

Retirement Age

60 years for men, 55 years for women. In the civil service: 65 years for men, 60 years for women.

Working Contracts

Contracts must be written, except for fixed-term employment contracts where the work to be carried out will not exceed 90 days.

Minimum Wage

There is no single rate; the minimum wage for the Agricultural sector is MZN 6,688 per month (approx. USD 105), while the Financial Services sector is MZN 19,043.61, as regulated by the Ministry of Labour following the last adjustment on 1 July 2025.
